ANNOTATION: When Savannah returns to her small-town home after years in the city, mystery surrounds her homecoming. While the town whispers, wonders, and gossips about why she may have returned, Clay Keough is determined to reignite their old flame.

SUMMARY: From her glamorous life in the city to a simple life in the beautiful hills of Sunbonnet, Wyoming, Savannah Stephens has finally come home after many years away. Her return is full of mystery and gossip for the town’s people and love reunited for Clay Keough. The small town folk whisper and wonder about Claudia, her six year old daughter she’s brought with her, and wonder why she’s returned after all these years. But Clay, whose love for Savannah has never wavered, won’t give up on her now. As they rekindle the old flame, he gently unravels her story as she succumbs to the heart of a man who has always loved her. But as she finds herself in his arms, she wonders if she can ever truly escape what now plagues her.

EVALUATION: 2 - Despite being slow and unnecessarily long, the author builds character depth and draws the reader to care about the characters – even when annoyed with their decisions.
